How is this for a great set of photographs! Cianbro's Senior Project Engineer on the replacement middle (Sarah Mildred Long) bridge provided these outstanding views of Albacore in her new "home". Thanks to Board member Ken Herrick for sharing these photos.
Demolition of the middle bridge continues. The center span was lowered onto a barge and floated away for scrapping in mid -October. Removal of the two old towers is underway while construction of the new bridge and roadbed continues. The target opening date for the replacement bridge remains late 2017.
Reunion team leader John Gandiello wants everyone to start thinking about the 2018 reunion. To that end, he has provided the following Preliminary Plan information.
Drinks and snacks will be available at the park on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Considering a cookout at the park on Thursday afternoon - burgers and hotdogs. May even do it again on Friday afternoon.
Signup will begin in January 2018 or shortly afterwards. More information will be available at that time. The plan is to keep the cost comparable to that of the 2015 reunion.
John encourages all shipmates to attend this reunion, even if you never attended one in the past. If you would like to participate in the reunion planning effort, please contact John at email@example.com or (317 ) 441-8843.
